Morris Solomon Farer, of Ladue, Missouri, died on Saturday, January 28, 2017, in Mercy Hospital, St. Louis.
Born in St. Louis, Missouri, January 28, 1937, to Raphael and Selma (Stone) Farer, Morris received his high school diploma from Soldan High School in St. Louis Public Schools in 1955 and graduated from Harris-Stowe State University in 1961 with a degree in elementary education. He began his career as a beloved sixth grade teacher at Jackson Elementary in St. Louis Public Schools. Later he became a well respected manager at Famous Barr and Macy's department stores where he later retired.
Morris is survived by his former wife, Denise Farer, of St. Louis, their two daughters and four grandchildren: Pearl (Farer) Raskin, her husband Curtis Raskin and their two children, Michael and Andrew, of Alamo, California; Rosalind (Farer) Schoppet, her husband Michael Schoppet and their two children, Jessica and Jacob, of Chandler, Arizona. Morris is also survived by his brother, Leon Farer, his sister and brother-in-law Rose and Allan Bell, and his brother-in-law Richard Waghalter. Morris was preceded in death by his mother and father, his sister Goldie Waghalter, and sister in-law Alberta Farer.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 Sunday, February 19, at Morris Farer's home in Olivette, Missouri. Please contact Rosalind at rschoppet8@gmail.com for directions.
