Born Reynolds Chrysostom JR on October 8, 1941 at St. Mary's Hospital in Clayton MO to the late Ina Grace Johnson Hayden and Reynolds Chrysostom Sr. He was given last rites at St. Luke's Hospital on 3/9/2017. He arrived in the arms of Jesus at 9:15 March 10, 2017. RC attended Owensboro Catholic High school in Owensboro KY, and graduated from Ritenour High school in 1959. He worked his way through the then named Rolla School of Metallurgy by working summers and through a work study program at McDonnell Douglas. On September 12th 1962 he was on his semester of work when John F Kennedy visited to promote the space program and he shook President Kennedy's hand. RC became part of the inspired young men and women who were pioneers in engineering. He finished his Bachelors' degree in electrical engineering at Rolla with honors. He was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity and in the Army ROTC program. He worked for a few years then he returned to Rolla and entered the Electrical Engineering Master's program. It was in Rolla that his first children were born on March 7, 1966 twin daughters Catherine Lynn and Christen Louise were born. RC then returned to McDonnell Douglas he and his wife settled in Hazelwood. His son Reynolds Chrysostom III was born on May 27, 1970.
He married Rebecca Nease Hayden on February 7, 1975 and settled in Chesterfield, MO.
In 1985 he begin a master's program at the extension of University of Missouri Rolla where he studied computer science. He went on to pursue a Masters in electrical engineering graduating with honors in both disciplines. His expertise was used in early pioneering working on the visual display of flight simulators for McDonnell Douglas RC worked on many things in support of department of defense specifically worked on F-15 aircraft. He finished his career in software review and retired in 2006. His career started in the transistor age of electronics and ended in the era of the internet.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years Rebecca Nease Hayden his three children and spouses, Chris Hayden Stoeber, Cathy Hayden Connelly, Bobby Connelly, Sonny Hayden. Grandsons Colin Stoeber of Cypress TX, Hayden Stoeber Cypress TX and granddaughter Quincie Hayden of Highland IL. A Sister Mary Helen Stovall preceded him in death in January 2017. Sisters Barbara Hayden of Charlotte NC, Dorothy Hayden Long of Jefferson City MO, Jane Hayden Becker of St. Charles, Brother Joe Hayden of Foristell, MO Brother in law Don Long of Jefferson City Sister-in-law Jonelle Hayden of Foristell. Nieces and nephews Billl and Brenda Wathen Owensboro,Tess Morgan-Murphy, Charlotte, NC Steven and Lynn Morgan, of Missouri City TX, Amber Becker Capstick, Tim Capstick, of Forestell, Carrie Becker, Heather La Blanc Morrison NC, Jeffrey Hayden of Warrenton and Aimee Goodwinn of Warrenton. Grand nieces' and nephews Siebe Heath Wathen, Brandon Heath, Nashville TN, K.C. Daniel, Stuart FL, Ellen Morgan, Greg Morgan Missouri City TX. Know affectionately as that man RC touched the lives of his family close friends and twitter family with his wit, unique view of life and his love of learning and presidential politics. He will be greatly missed by all.
