Aleda Joan Allen, age 76, of St. Louis, MO, passed away peacefully at 4:55 p.m. Saturday, May 13, 2017 from heart failure at the Woodland Manor Nursing Center in Arnold, MO. She was born June 23, 1940 in Cape Girardeau, MO to Clifford and Geneva Allen, and she was raised in Oran, MO. Aleda graduated from Oran High School (1959) and attended Southeast Missouri State University. She taught one year at Guardian Angel School in Oran, MO. She moved to St. Louis and worked for various companies until her retirement in 2008.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Lanny Allen; a sister, Marilyn Allen; and brother-in-law; Kenny Kirk.
Aleda is survived by her sisters: Veronica L. Kirk of Jackson, MO and Lenore Allen of Denver, CO; and a brother, Gene O. Allen of Ozark, MO.
A mass intention will be at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran with Rev. Randy Tochtrop officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation can be sent to the American Diabetes Association.
