    Obituary for Elizabeth Langley (Corless)

    Elizabeth Langley (Corless)
Elizabeth Louise Langley (Betty Corless) went to heaven on May 29th, 2015. Beloved daughter of the late Edgar James and Katie Mae (nee Sappington) Corless. Cherished wife of the late Donald Eugene Langley. Loving Mother of Michelle Elizabeth Langley (Danforth), Marsha Jean Langley and son in law Craig Danforth. Sister of the late Le La Mae Huck (nee Corless), and Floyd Edgar Corless (Bunk). Adored Grandmother of Mya Langley Danforth. Special friend and companion to Jim Fischer. Sister-in-law to Elizabeth Langley. Aunt, great Aunt, cousin and cherished friend too many.
Betty was a native of Chesterfield Missouri, a graduated of Eureka high school, class of 1955. A long time member of Saint Thomas United Church of Christ. Betty spent many years in the banking industry and after retiring, worked at Schnucks Supermarket for many more years. Betty married Donald Langley of Overland on July 13th 1957. Betty was active in her daughter’s lives, always welcoming their friends into their home. Betty was especially close to her only grandchild Mya, and played a significant role in her life, as she resided in the home of her oldest daughter Michelle and son in law Craig’s home for many years. Betty was widowed in 1996, spending the next several years with close friends and family. In the last five years she became re acquainted with an old friend from her high school years Jim Fisher. They enjoyed an annual fishing trip, barbecuing, family events, the Cardinals, and just spending time together.
Betty had a great sense of humor, was a good listener, a good friend, and always empathetic to someone in need. She had a deep love for animals, family, and friends. Betty will be missed by many, but is comfortable in heaven with her late husband and family.
At her wishes she was cremated, and will be buried next to Donald Langley at Antioch Baptist Church, in Chesterfield, Missouri. A private family memorial service led by retired Pastor and Cousin Ralph Greene will be held on June 20th. The family will be receiving visitors to celebrate her life following, from 2-5pm at Michelle and Craig’s home on 10345 Savannah Ave, Frontenac, Mo, 63131.
In lieu of flowers, the family asked that you consider a donation in her honor to the Antioch Baptist Church, 18319 Wild Horse Creek Rd., Chesterfield, MO. 63005 where she will be laid to rest.
