    Obituary for Elizabeth S. Gravitt (Boyd)

    Ms. Elizabeth (Liz) Sydney Gravitt (Boyd), loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother died peacefully at home on April 25, 2016 in Overland, MO at the age of 87
    Liz is survived by her three children, Jeffery W. Gravitt, Jason B. Gravitt and Kendal (Bryant Biek) A. Gravitt all of St Louis ,MO, one brother, Herb (Maria) Boyd of Waltham, MA, ten grandchildren, Jennifer (Bill) L. Rosenkoetter of Swansea, IL, Kerf (Corrie) O. Gravitt of St Louis, MO, Keenyn A. Gravitt of Write City, MO, Mundi (Chris) Hendren of O’Fallon, MO, Shellie E.Gravitt of Seattle, WA, Kuryn (Donne Shaw) M. Kroutil, of Lake St. Louis, MO, Lucien (Lauren) G. Lakebrink of St Louis, MO, Elgin L. Lakebrink of Madison, WI, Zea T. Gravitt-Biek of Madison, WI, and Nevyn R. Gravitt-Biek of Madison WI, and eleven great-grandchildren Carmela E. Henrichs, Francesco J. Henrichs, Jenna Hendren, Jordan Hendren, Jackson Hendren, Helena C. Collins-Gravitt, Celeste A. Gravitt, Lily Russo, Vennessa J. Gravitt , Kerf C. Gravitt, , and Oakley P. Murphy. She is also survived by James Cleveland Gravitt of St Ann, MO the father of her three children, Debbie (Dave) Heim, the mother of three of her grandchildren, Judy Gravitt, the mother of two of her grandchildren, Mark Kroutil the father of one of her grandchildren, Jeffery J. Lakebrink, the father of two of her grandchildren and Whitney (Ben) Murphy the mother of three of her great grandchildren.
    Liz was born on August 15, 1928 in Framingham, MA to the late Firth and Marion (Williamson) Boyd. After moving to St Louis, Liz later worked for St. Louis Children Hospital She retired in 1993 having held several positions in the 20 plus years as a nurse aid. medical technician, Unit Secretary, and admissions.
    Liz was passionate about reading, watching, but not playing, golf and butterflies. She was also an active and dedicated volunteer with The Greater St. Louis Book Fair. Her children remember her love of ice skating and the ocean.
    A Celebration of Life is scheduled for 1 – 4 PM May 14, 2016 at the Maryland Heights Community Center. All are welcome to attend. Liz will be interred at the family plot in Framingham, MA. The family would like to thank Patty Baker, DePaul Medical Center and SSM Hospice for their care and dedication.
